The unlikeliest sources of inspiration often result in thebest art. S. Philippson Pallucco’s latest lighting collection, Crinolina Pallucco, ascribes the Victorian-era hoopskirt as its muse. Featuring lampshades thatresemble the wire scaffolding of the then highly-fashionable garment, thecollection is a play on ‘now you see it, now you don’t’ with its equal partscut-out and filled in sections. The lamp appears asymmetrical regardless offrom which angle it is viewed, and the shade seamlessly encircles thesconce-shaped diffuser inside, allowing a warm, inviting light – rendered byits PVC gold and cotton chintz coating – to freely exude. Made of epoxypowder-coated steel, the shades are available in three striking hues:antachrite grey, white and purple. The floor and pendant versions come in“Grande” and “Super Grande”, featuring 680mm and 900mm diffusers respectively. The pendant Crinolina Pallucco is also available in “Mini” with a diffuserdiameter of just 290mm and imbues a soft illumination that makes it just rightfor the bedroom. Equally charming is the wall-mounted version that yields a mellowup-light, or the table version. All versions of the Crinolina Pallucco lightingcollection utilize low-consuming bulbs. Now that your path is lit, it’s time tomake your own fashion statement.
